TCT's Next General Meeting is: Monday, July 16, 2018 at 6:30 pm
BeeKay Theatre, 110 South Green Street
OPENS JULY 27
Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee has charmed audiences across the country with effortless wit and humor. It features a fast-paced, wildly funny, touching, and unforgettable experience.
An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents compete for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box.
With its enormously appealing cast of lovable misfits, nerds, and neurotics, this energetic musical perfectly captures the angst, exhilaration and heartache that makes growing up so painful and so wonderful. A riotous ride, complete with audience participation, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a delightful den of comedic genius.
Doors open 30 minutes before curtain.
